This tutorial provides an introduction of the basic use of Java
OceanAtlas to explore oceanographic data. It is organized from the
most basic features to intermediate ones. Not all features are
covered. Users new to Java OceanAtlas will probably want to work
through this tutorial in order, because it is written assuming

The appearance (the look and feel) of Java OceanAtlas dialog boxes and windows is different on Windows, Mac OS, and UNIX computers. Java OceanAtlas uses the "native" look and feel of your computer's operating system. Where possible, JOA has been changed to adhere to specific user-interface standards for your operating system--this is especially true for Mac OS X/ The examples shown in this tutorial were created on a Windows 2000 computer.
