CHEMISTRY LABORATORY - ODF
The Chemistry Laboratory of the
Oceanographic Data Facility(ODF)
is dedicated
primarily to the
Shipboard Technical Support (STS) Group at the Scripps
Institution of Oceanography(SIO),
but performs analyses for many
investigators
in the Oceanographic community. Analyses include dissolved inorganic
nutrients, dissolved oxygen and salinity, both at sea in a real-time environment
and ashore. Attention is given to producing world-class reference data.
The laboratory has participated in many major oceanographic expeditions
(eg. GEOSECS, TTO, SAVE, WOCE & JGOFS, to name a few)
over the past 20 years. A complete shore analysis facility
is available for
shore-based analyses of
nutrients (N+N, PO4, SiO3, NO2, NH4),
dissolved oxygen, and
salinity.
A glassware calibration facility
is also available.
